This version tells you in, plain language, what side effects to look for, interactions with food and other medications and what medical problems make prescribing the medication contraindicated.

About the Author

William E. Unrau is Professor of History in Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas. He has published several studies of Kansas and Indian history, including, with Craig Miner, Tribal Dispossession and the Ottawa Indian University Fraud, also published by the University of Oklahoma Press.

H. Craig Miner (1945–2010), was the Willard W. Garvey Distinguished Professor of Business History in Wichita State University. Miner was the author of many books, including Tribal Dispossession and the Ottawa Indian University Fraud, coauthored by William E. Unrau, published by the University of Oklahoma Press.

R. David Edmunds, Professor of History at the University of Texas in Dallas, is a historian of Native American people and the American West. The author or editor of ten books and over one hundred essays, articles, and other shorter publications, Edmunds' major works have been awarded the Francis Parkman Prize (The Potawatomis: Keepers Of The Fire, 1978); the Ohioana Prize for Biography (The Shawnee Prophet , 1983); and the Alfred Heggoy Prize of the French Colonial Historical Society (The Fox Wars: The Mesquakie Challenge To New France, 1993).

Our Best and Only Historical Source for a Little-Known Tribe

Unrau has combed the sources to compile this history of a poorly documented tribe so he deserves our gratitude.

The writing becomes somewhat dry after a while as he had to depend upon government reports which provide few exciting moments because most agents never wanted to rock the boat, that is present any details in a report which suggest they don't have everything under control.

What is more, the Kansa engaged in no major combat with the U.S. so they often went unnoticed. Probably they were reduced by disease in greater numbers than we know about as was the case with most tribes.

We are indebted to the author for bringing together most of what is known about the Kansa. Likely we will learn more from the archaeological record, but for now The Kansa Indians remains our best source.

History of Kansa Indians

My son-in-law is part Kaw/Kansa Indian which makes my grandchildren part Kansa. This was interesting and loving history, I found it fascinating. However, it was a bit dry in places and since it was written by a historian - tended to be steeped in fact, but did not always get into the spiritual beliefs and rituals of the people. I think he made them sound rather one-dimensional, which of course we know they could not have been. Since they were not a particularly well known tribe, perhaps it is amazing that there is even an historical account written down and we of course should be grateful for that. Having grown up in Iowa/Nebraska and living in Kansas we are more familiiar with the Sioux. I find all of the Native American History intersting and anyone who lived in Kansas/Nebraska or even Iowa would find this intersting.

About the Author

Noah J. Efron chairs the Graduate Program in Science, Technology and Society at Bar Ilan University, in Israel. He is also President of the Israeli Society for the History and Philosophy of Science. Efron has been a member of the Institute for Advanced Science in Princeton, a fellow of the Dibner Institute for History of Science and Technology at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology, and a fellow at Harvard University. He is the author of numerous scholarly essays about Jewish Natural Philosophy in early modern Europe, and his essays on the politics of religion and the politics of science have appeared in The Jerusalem Report, Midstream, Tikkun, Jewish Action, Hadassah Magazine, The World Jewish Digest, and the Boston Book Review.

About the Author
Louis Gary Lamit is the former head of the drafting department and CAD facility manager at De Anza College in Cupertino California. Mr. Lamit has worked as a drafter, designer, numerical control (NC) programmer, technical illustrator, and engineer in the automotive, aircraft, and piping industries. A majority of his work experience is in the area of mechanical and piping design. He started as a drafter in Detroit (as a job shopper) in the automobile industry, doing tooling, dies, jigs and fixture layout, and detailing at Koltenbar Engineering, Tool Engineering, Time Engineering, and Premier Engineering for Chrysler, Ford, AMC, and Fisher Body. Mr. Lamit has worked at Remington Arms and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a designer, and at Boeing Aircraft and Kollmorgan Optics as an NC programmer and aircraft engineer. Mr. Lamit also owns and operates his own consulting firm, and has been involved with advertising and patent illustrating.

They should call this the PTC Creo Parametric Bible!

Concise and well presented with a strong approach on appropriate parametric modeling techniques that are not usually conveyed at all in other CAD books. This is without a doubt the best-written introduction book on Creo Parametric 3.0 I have ever worked with. It is also quite good as an upgrade book. Limit's propensity for writing textbooks throughout the years truly comes out in this new PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 version. I could not ask for a better manual to instruct my students with. Not only does it cover parametric modeling with a step-by-step approach were one learned technique builds on another, but it also covers assembles and detailing as well. It comprehensively covers the new PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 interface and includes links to his personal webpage with free student edition of Creo as well as complimentary projects and the author’s personal lectures that add hundreds of free pages and educational ideas for the user to access. What a deal...! If you find a better, more well thought out concise CAD book I will eat this one!
