Better than most introductions! Not superficial!
By Educator
The 2nd edition is an excellent introduction to the field of bioethics, which avoids the simplicity that many introductions show. It covers the history of the field, methods of ethics case analysis, cultural assumptions, and much more. I recommend this for advanced undergraduates, graduate/professional students, and the educated layperson who is interested in bioethical issues. The book functions well as a stand alone text for classes.

Siberian pack alpha Dane Durov endured a lot in his young life and managed to survive, so he always assumed that he had a special purpose in life. If he’d had to guess, though, ‘bodyguard to the child of an Olympian god’ wouldn’t have been his first guess. Frankly, he still thought it sounded like something out of a romance writer’s imagination. Romance. The mere word reminds Dane that love brings nothing but exploding pain. A man had ripped his heart out and left him hollow, but spending time with Ryder Winters is weakening Dane's defenses. The young demigod is sweet, caring, beautiful — and dangerous. Dane finds himself daring to laugh again — but love?

Ryder Winters is shocked — no, stunned beyond reason — when he finds out that Zeus is his biological father. Zeus. The god of the sky and ruler of all Olympian gods. As a demigod under constant threat, Ryder needs around-the-clock protection. He struggles to deal with his newfound superpowers, but he also battles his growing feelings for his guardian, Dane Durov. A trip to Siberia with Dane intensifies the confusion and adds lust and love to the mix for Ryder as he comes face to face with the past Dane has been trying to forget.

Things spiral out of control as Ryder's powers are unleashed and Dane struggles to come to terms with his growing love for the man he's willing to protect at any cost.

What are those Olympians up to now??
By Tams (TTC Books and more)
Dane Durov is a transplant Skull Blaster, having joined the team when he was rescued from the Rogue’s in Siberia, sadly only after they’d killed most of his pack members. He is a big, brooding, bad ass werewolf that doesn’t trust easily. He loved once, had a mate, but that love was broken when Markus learned he was a shifter. Then it was shattered when Markus died. Part of the reason he keeps Ryder at arms length is because Ryder is so young and beautiful, and has an opportunity to live such a full life, without all the baggage Dane would bring into a relationship. Mostly it’s because Dane has locked his heart and thrown away the key.
Ryder has been to hell and back in his young life, literally, just to survive. When he came out to his parents they tried to drown him, and since then his love of the water has turned into a guttural fear. A fear he is working hard to overcome. Ryder makes great progress with the help of his protector, one sexy shifter with a bad attitude. The writing is on the wall for these two, but Dane is nothing if not stubborn. And even after he succumbs to his feelings for the young, delicious Olympian, Dane manages to piss off the young man that has control over the lightening. Dane will have to say goodbye to the pain of his past if he stands a chance at a future with Ryder.
This book was just so much fun. I absolutely love Dion’s dry, witty sense of humor that bleeds over into her characters. One of my favorite lines in the story, “what if lightening shoots out my dick?” and that is just one of many one liners that had me rolling while I was reading this book. It’s not all fun and games though. There is the constant threat of attack from the army of Rogues, and they surely have a knack for popping up at the wrong time. And then we learn that Ryder’s parents are coming up for parole, so on top of everything else he has going on in his life, he has to consider whether or not he wants to testify at the hearing.
The perfect balance of drama, angst, humor and action all circulate to complete this latest addition to the Olympians series. Just a couple side notes… a missing Olympian is found in this book and I’m intrigued. There is something mentioned about Thor, or a distant relative. It looks like Nate might be getting him a little sum sumthin! And close to thirty books into this world (between the Assassin/Shifter books and the Twelve Olympians books) I am still completely engaged, engrossed and enamored with this world and these characters Dion has created.
A MUST read for any shifter fans out there. But if you like paranormal romance, some kick ass characters and intricately plotted storylines, then you are going to love this series. You really have to start at the beginning though. At the very least, start with the first Olympian story if not the first Assassin/Shifter story.

Same ole story..
By Joani
Ok, I love Sandrine and always will. The story was good but it's becoming to predictable. The are all becoming the same story just told over and over. I mean let's just cut to the chase...whoever is assigned to protect you is your mate..." oh, your my protector? So that makes you my mate!!" And why is everyone of these vicious men wash women?? Oh look at you, your in love...I have never known a man gay or straight that would even bother to talk about feelings unless another came to them asking for advice. Everything and event in this book flew by with to easy resolutions as if even Sandrine is just as bored with the series but still has to finish the series and pop them out as fast as humanly possible. Maybe in the next book someone else could be the protector with the possible mate on the outside getting in the way or something like that to shake things up. They try to be alone but the bodyguard is always there...it just needs funny situations, more laughter. All of which made made Devin and Andrei's story a ten star success. I don't know, these are just ideas for Sandrine to run with.

Yes, We read the same book.
By iknowTaya
II want to be done with this series. But can't seem to let it go because I invested some much time to it and it's connected to another series. I need to see it to the end.

Everything just gets repetitive.

Here are a few things I've seen repeatedly in past few books:
1. Horrible adoptive parents/ easy acceptance of bio parent(s).
2.Your guardian is your mate. Why are they fighting it? or acting surprise? It happened four times before this book.
3. Going to club and singing a song that connected to the situation. Why can't they just go to the club and not perform.
4. Mini Recaps. You have a loyal fanbase. Quit with the mini recaps of previous character lives. It is like you are watching your favorite show and then " Breaking News" pop up on your screen. It just jerks you out of the story.
5. Past significant relationship-- Turns out they are all evil and frees the MC1 up to fully commit to MC2. Markus's incident didn't make sense.
6. Everybody is attractive (I get it.), perfectly flawed and will never die.

This series feels like an after school special at times. I wanted fluffy but this one didn't hit the mark. I just can't recommend this one.

Rendezvous With Destiny: A History Of The 101st Airborne Division, by Leonard Rapport, Arthur Northwood Jr.

Includes over 100 maps and dozens of illustrations

New York Times review: "For sheer adventure few writers of fiction surpass this real-life, name-and-date story of men bound together in a combat outfit."

“The 101st Airborne Division, which was activated on August 16, 1942, at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, has no history, but it has a rendezvous with destiny…” Maj.-Gen. William Lee commanding officer 1942.

“In 1942, the 82nd Infantry Division at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, was split in two. One of the new divisions began intense preparations and training for a surprise landing on the Nazi-occupied European continent. The location was Normandy, France; the date was June 6, 1944; and the division was the 101st Airborne: the legendary "band of brothers."

“This is the story of that division’s heroic performance on D-Day, and right up to the Allied victory in Europe. Filled with historic images, many never before published, it is also a tribute to the fallen men of the 101st--the artists and athletes, scientists and mathematicians, architects and builders whose sacrifice secured the future but left the human race much diminished. Theirs is an accomplishment well-known but rarely so dramatically depicted: Here is the 101st landing on Utah Beach, coming in by parachute, or glider, or from the sea. Stirring words and pictures capture the landing, linking the Utah and Omaha beachheads; the divisions breaking of the German drive to the coast; and their brilliant stand at Bastogne; a refusal to yield so famously summed up in the commanders reply to a German call for surrender: "Nuts."”-Mark Bando.

A partial history of the Screaming Eagles
By Jeffrey Leeper
This history came from many interviews, diary entries, letters, and the like. The authors compiled the information to make it as readable as possible. Included with the history are photos and correspondence (like the memorable "NUTS" note during Bastogne). The goal is to provide a history of the 101st Airborne Division.

The book is very WWII heavy. More than half of the book deals with that. From its conception to its initial deactivation, the reader can walk through the different actions to get an idea of what the soldiers were going through. Some battles are very detailed and put the reader in the action. Others, like the respite between battles, are not covered in as much detail, but there is enough there to understand what the soldier did with his time.

After the reactivation, the books is very quick. There are some photographs, but nothing that really seems new. The narrative seems to have stopped in the 60s even though the division is still around. If I had to find a flaw, that would be it. One of the authors notes working on this manuscript in 1946, so it is very possible that he is not writing anymore. Ideally, another writer should write the history from the reactivation to now.

As a narrative, the book shows what is happening quite well; however, this is military history. There is a host of names and numbers that keep the casual reader from really following the book. The narrative is geared towards military buffs.

For those military buffs, I would recommend this book to get an inside view of this division's work during WWII. Not only does the book provide information on Bastogne, but also Normandy and the other campaigns.

Screaming Eagles Bible
By John E. Nevola
Rendezvous With Destiny is to the 101st Airborne Division as All American - All The Way (Phil Nordyke) is to the 82nd Airborne Division. Both books are the complete and ultimate source of information for their respective divisions.

Rendezvous With Destiny represents an important contribution to the collection of historical information, data and recollections of individuals who fought with the 101st. Because of the nature of airborne operations as well as the high casualty rates, reconstructing battles after the fact is extremely difficult and demanding. In many cases, it's impossible. That's why this work is of such historical significance. It does not read like an Ian Fleming novel but its also not Shakespeare. Its not a dry reference book either. It's a very readable and highly detailed account of some of the bravest fighting men who ever donned an American soldier's uniform!

Included in the 800 pages are numerous photographs, over one hundred maps, a glossary of terms and abbreviations, an honor roll, a list of foreign citations, decorations and battle honors, a collection of airborne songs and poems and authorized strength and casualty lists.

Rendezvous With Destiny was an indispensable reference source in the research for my own historical novel of World War II airborne operations in Europe.

Rendezvous With Destiny
By William E. Houser Jr.
Leonard Rappaport and Arthur Norwood served in the 101st Airborne during World War II. Somehow it came to them to write down the history of that division during the time that they served in it, from 1942 to 1945. They did this to preserve the memory of those who served and came home, and for those who would never come home again. They made sure that the people involved get the credit that they deserved, unstinting in their praise where warranted, yet unafraid of discussing the less than successful moments (thankfully few).

Years later, with less personal involvement, they added a section on the 101st in Vietnam. While not as all encompassing as the WWII section, it is still enlightening as well as entertaining. For a couple of gentlemen who were not professional writers, I find their style to be interesting and informative.

My interest is primarily in the WWII aspect of the book, though I found the Vietnam section to also be telling. If I could give half stars, this would be four and one half stars. Recommended.

Excellent

I've found this book very helpful in the classroom. Having one game a page makes it easier to read and use, along with the symbols at the top of each page that tell you what age group the game is appropriate for, whether you'll need props or a large space, and about how much time needed to play.

Body Movement Is Good For All Ages
By Laurie Davis
I am an acting teacher who owns her own studio and incorporates body movement into each and every class. I also taught yoga for the first time this summer and found this book to be very helpful. I use many of the exercises in both drama and yoga class and the children ages 4 - 16 loved them. I can't wait to use them in my new classes this Fall.

This book is the answer to your prayers - if you are a first year neurology resident, alone on call during those first few months. Including differential diagnosis and management, although a little heavy in your coat pocket, you may come to regard the added weight as your security blanket.
