Feels like I'm watching a movie...

I loved the build up of Link and Grace coming together in Collision Course, being drawn together by forces out of their control. In this book, I was expecting their meeting to be powerful, but wow ... I didn't expect the push and pull of it, the raw vulnerability of these two strong people who have appeared in each other's lives. The struggles. The tenderness. The mutual understand and trust.

It was beautiful. And sad. And maddening. Another Leslie and Elle emotional roller coaster that hooked me in, made me laugh, cry and want to throw my Kindle.

I also loved the secondary characters. Even the bitchy mother - I could see her in my mind. The growing relationship between Link and his dad. His awesome sister. They all feel very real. It's like I'm watching a movie and seeing everything unfold in front of my eyes.

The book also makes me want to go out and hug a soldier for putting his/her life on the line. And hug a nurse for the work they do. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I need to know what will happen next.

Badass: Destinies Collide is part 3 in the Billionaire Military Romance series. It picks up right where the last book left off, so I would highly recommend the prequel as well as Collision Course.

This story continues to pull at your heartstrings from start to finish. Both Link and Grace are recovering from the events in the last book. Fate has brought them together, as they attempt to heal.

The raw emotions, struggle and turn of events kept me burning through the pages. I could not get enough of these characters. I can't wait to find out what will happen next!

This is one incredible series!

This is one of those series that you love so much you're so impatient waiting on the next release. Torture...that really is the best way to describe it.

I have such a love for the characters in this series Link, and Grace even some of his family like his dad and sister. This story really hits close to home and grows on you the struggle that Link is going through as an Army wife it's all to real we see it often (I've experienced it myself). The raw emotions that Link draws from you with his hurt is absolutely stunning. Grace is another amazing character that draws you in as a reader she is the sweetest most loving woman and you just want to be around her.

The attraction between Link and Grace is event and you see it grow throughout the story, the passionate night the share together in the book is beyond passionate, words can barely describe it. I will say that the two of them brought together and the deep emotions that you see come to the surface are breathtaking, and will tug at your heart and have tears falling in no time.

These amazing authors don't just leave us with a cliff hanger they throw us off the proverbial cliff so as I said before torture...waiting for the next release. I for one have to find out what happens next. Don't miss it. This series is amazing!

I knew before purchasing this book that it was from 2005, but still found it full of useful information and insights. Great interviews featuring dozens of famous musicians and producers that cover the full spectrum of musical genres. Also, practical info on setting up studio recording, mixing, etc. An interesting chapter on the future of digital music, since the technology has changed so rapidly. Some of the predictions were on the money, while others missed the mark. Originally, this book was $27.95, but I purchased it on Amazon for less than $3.00, plus a slight shipping charge. For anyone, (like myself), who's venturing into making digital music in a home studio setting, this is a great read and reference.

Some interesting interviews, thin on practical advice, lackluster DVD

I really wanted to like this book after reading all the reviews. And I must admit that some of the interviews are quite interesting. However, almost all of the 50+ interviews are limited to just two pages, with each interviewee answering just a couple of questions. The latter portions of the book are dedicated to some light advice on music production and the business of music, as well some speculation on the future of the music industry. Perhaps there are just too many topics to allow any one topic to receive a satisfying treatment. Many of the interviews read like an article you would find in Sound on Sound, Electronic Musician or such magazines (that's a good thing) but are even skimpier on content and cover a far-reaching range of topics. This biggest disappointment, however, is the DVD. It mostly contains audio excerpts of the telephone interviews and after a while you just lose interest clicking around on them. There are only a few performance-oriented video clips, but these are not the best quality and their content is of questionable interest. All in all, I think the book has some interesting elements but I'm not sure there's enough there to justify the space on your bookshelf. My advice would be to flip through it at a bookstore, read two or three of the interviews before ordering it.

Food for Digital Thought

I purchased the 'The Art Of Digital Music' after some email contact with the author and the realization of several shared interests that are addressed on a certain level in the book.

It's not an encyclopedic tome - more a skim of the mindsets of many, many artists, technicians and producers. Two pages per person. It's a great read in the sense of broadening your working methods or notions about things, breaking out of ruts or certain pre-conceived notions about the creative process. Some very simple (but very profound) words of wisdom are contained within.

I recommend it for anyone who feels they've perhaps become too structured and wants some fresh perspective.

The one thing that may bother some is the extensive discussion in the interviews about selling music online and DRM. I mention this because the book was published before the ubiquitous iPod, iTunes Music Store and all that followed had come on the scene. So there's a lot of speculation about what shape things could, should or would take but, for the most part, it's already happened. Just a heads up to those who would strain their patience reading about foregone conclusions. I personally still found it interesting.

CHRISTMAS JOURNEY is a wonderful, heartwarming story. A story that carries a clear message for today's fast-paced lifestyle.

Charles and Judith Montgomery have everything -- success, money, and the million dollar family - one boy and one girl. But Charles, Judith, and their children are living a nightmare. They are running on the treadmill of modern life. Living together in a family home, living apart as a family. A family that is too busy, too stressed, and too filled with conflict.

Charles Montgomery did not reach the top of his profession without insight and he has enough insight to know his family is presently falling apart. He must do something. He elects to give his family an old-fashioned Christmas, a Christmas in the mountains, a Christmas together. What he gives them is a disaster, for the Montgomery family needs far more than a bandage to hold it together. What they need is an example of wholesome values and love. What they acquire is the Walker family.

The Walkers, a ragtag crew of five, stranded and asking for help. The Walkers, a family who love and respect each other. The Walkers, a family with nothing, yet a family with everything.

A sudden and unforeseen blizzard forces the two families together, to live and to learn about each other. To fend without the convenience of modern amenities. To provide, to survive, and to support each other. An uncomfortable situation? Yes. An enlightening situation? Oh, YES.

Amazing.

Read this book. Read this book even if you don't like Becnel's others, even (perhaps especially) if you disliked her other Christmas one. Read this book if your Christmas spirit needs some major help.
This is the story of the Montgomery family, outwardly successful, but desperately unhappy. It's the story of the Christmas they spend stranded with the Walkers--a family whose lack of material success can't obscure the love and joy they've found. And it's the story of how this very special family helps the Montgomerys rediscover the very real blessings they had almost lost.
Read this book. I can hardly say it enough.

A great resource for the novice or experienced NP!

Although the initial chapter on Clinical Reasoning and Differential Diagnosis is limited, it is a concisely written prelude to a wealth of focused symptom assessment strategies. As a practitioner and a faculty member in a nurse practitioner program, I have found this book to be an excellent teaching resource. Each chapter contains several of the most common symptoms related to a specific body system. For example, the cardiovascular and respiratory systems are represented by the symptoms of dyspnea, chest pain and cough. The overlapping of these systems is artfully woven together is a manner that consistently prompts the reader to be focused yet complete. Each chapter outlines key questions to ask and also provides analysis of the possible patient responses. Included is a relational inference between each symptom and age specific concerns. At the end of each chapter, the authors have developed "Differential Diagnosis" tables that are particulary useful to the novice nurse practitioner in a clinical setting. Overall the book's pocket size format lends it to easy reading and convenience.

Comparison to 2nd edition

Nice book. I have the 2nd edition and compared it with the newer edition. The 3rd edition is much the same as the 2nd but with 2 additional chapters--one on "Mood Changes, Behavior Changes..." and then one on clinical CXR (chest x-rays). Helpful book for students.

Excellent book for practical clinical advice...

I am studying to become a Family Nurse Practitioner through Georgetown and absolutely love this book! It has by far the best practical clinical applications of any assessment textbook that I have ever used. I haven't even really used our other textbook in favor of this one. Easy to read- no fluff at all.

There are so many great experiments in this book!! Pay attention to the age range of 7-12 years. Some experiments, even for a 7 year old, need parental assistance. We bought this for our nephew. His mom is a school teacher and picky about educational items, but she said this book is a HIT. She and he love it and have been doing experiments together. If you have a little scientist, this book has a lot of great things to try out.

This is a great science experiment book for my 10 yr old daughter and for a great price......we are very excited to do some of them.....picked up a bunch of the materials needed to do them and the best part is that a lot of the materials you have at home and the ones that you might need to buy are inexpensive!!!!!

Wonderful opportunity to learn and bond with your children

Our daughters are all very bright, every parent has to say that I'm sure, but each of them has an interest where they seem to have more fun. One of our girls loves science and everything about it so we ordered this book based on the reviews of parents like us. I can say that from the moment our, then five year old, opened the book she was entranced. Part of the fun was watching her thumb through the pages and interpret what she thought the experiment was based on the pictures. Some of the theories were pretty funny...a reindeer launcher was the one that had us in tears. Anyway, we have spent a lot of time going through the various experiments with some success and some, well...some learning experiences. The experiment that is still talked about as if myth to her younger sisters is the time she made the shell of an egg disappear leaving the yolk in a see through sack...the explanation changes every time but it is always cute. If we can find the pics from some of the experiments we will load them up but I definitely recommend this book.
