This is a heavy book! In all respects. It has thousands of insightful and interesting facts about food. From aardvark to so many foods you never heard of and everyday foods and their history, to something called Zwirn. The book is a fascinating look at food around the world in in all its cultures. It's a book Andrew Zimmerman would write is he had the time. There's Earl tea and Earthworms practically on the same page!

It is a very interesting book, very complete. The only thing is that inevitably time pass by and the book now is a lit bit out of datas, because in meantime many ingredients were added to gastronomy operations.
