In September 2004, a group of terrorists seized a school in Beslan, a small town in the south of Russia. Over the course of three days, 1,128 people were held hostage under tortuous conditions—the majority of them children aged six to sixteen. In the end, the Beslan terrorist attack left 333 people dead, including 186 children.
While the hostage crisis uncovered major deficiencies in Russia’s anti-terrorism system, the distorted media coverage of the tragedy has shaped a multitude of incorrect opinions about the events. My go to book to accurately understand the massacre

Very informative on the subject. Not only is the incident completely covered, but the aftermath is also discussed. What happened to the family's of lost children and the town itself is discussed. Not only the tragedy but the consequences of human nature it dealing with such tragedy is detailed. All in all a very well covered subject. I recommend this book.

Should there be a single book about the Beslan tragedy ...

Should there be a single book about the Beslan tragedy, it would be the one written by Alexander BURAKOV. I do think that this book is today the most serious analysis ever conducted about the Beslan events. Everything is clear, transparent and obvious. I bet that this book will be ostracized by the Western and American media, since it is questioning their unanimous conclusions which accuse the Russian forces and the Government then in place. In 2004, Putin had already been defined as an ideal scapegoat for the US and Europe… The sequence of events presented in this book of more than 400 pages is much more comprehensive, meticulous and scientific. It is for me the "absolute and unavoidable reference" about the Beslan events. Considering the rigour of this book it will be hard to question its content

Great book. May cause tremendous pain in those who believe mass media

I participated in Kickstarter campaign for this book and I was one of the first readers of it. What can be said about this book - the author, Alexander Burakov put a tremendous amount of research and did a great job uncovering the myths that surround Beslan tragedy. It is a very thorough document for everyone who wants to know what ACTUALLY happened back then, without political influence of modern media sources. Very informative and useful read, thank you Alexander
