Damit die SED ihre Machtposition behalten konnte, musste sie sich selbst als unfehlbar darstellen und gleichzeitig Kritik unterbinden, d.h. von allen B�rgern Parteilichkeit fordern. So musste sie selbstverst�ndlich die Massenmedien kontrollieren, sie mit Propaganda speisen und alles, was die Unzufriedenheit des DDR-B�rgers wecken k�nnte, durch Zensur ausmerzen. Somit hatte die SED ein Monopol auf die Wahrheit, die immer im Sinne der Partei zugerechtgestutzt wurde und die zu keinem Zeitpunkt objektiv vermittelt wurde. Wie sie dies bewerkstelligte, soll nachfolgend behandelt werden. Ich m�chte dabei zus�tzlich auf den Aspekt der Beeinflussung durch die Westmedien eingehen, die �ber die Mauer hinweg ein tats�chliches Bild der Wahrheit in die Wohnzimmer der DDR brachten.
